What is CPN Dashboard?

Overview

VMware Cloud Partner Navigator (CPN) is a unified SaaS partner platform that enables cloud provider partners to deliver multi-cloud services. In other words, it serves as a one-stop solution for VMware partners and third parties to manage everything related to VMware's cloud services. The CPN dashboard provides partners with crucial data and insights for effective business performance tracking and multi-cloud service management.

Context

What role do I play and how do I collaborate with others?

Role & Team

As the lead designer, I spearheaded the end-to-end design of 5 distinct dashboards, each tailored for different user groups. Additionally, I modularized the dashboard card and grid system to establish a standard design framework.

A well-structured dashboard is crucial for users because it centralizes key data and streamlines tasks, directly improving user experience and boosting satisfaction. Given its significance, we've decided to redesign the dashboard to better meet our users' needs.

Who are we solving for?

Persona

In the CPN ecosystem, there's a diverse range of personas. My role in this landscape was to collaborate closely with the Product Manager, diving deep into the problem space to truly grasp where our users stood.
Below are the key user personas and their roles:

Let's Learn From Our Competitors!

Research

I analyzed the dashboards of products similar to CPN from Google, Amazon, Cisco, and Microsoft. Based on the available data, I evaluated the information architecture, visual design, and data visualization of these dashboards and summarized the benefits and considerations for each.

Let's learn from our stakeholders!

Research

Given our enterprise product's characteristics and limited UX research resources, we couldn't directly engage with users. Instead, we collaborated with the partner operation and PM teams who have closer ties to our users.

🪄Let's add some customization

What's more?

To better accommodate individual user requirements, I've also designed a feature that lets users rearrange dashboard cards and add or remove them to meet their specific needs.
